Default 30lbs injectors worth?

Hi Guys, I've been familiar with this site for years, but this is my first post. I'm thinking of doing 30lbs injectors, but wonderingif it's worth it.

My car is a 1996 Formula
stock rebuild, ported stock heads/intake, lt4 valve springs, stock rockers, ZZ4 cam, very mild cam, mac mids headers w/ORY, 52mm throttle body, knn cold air intake, 373 gears.

I'm going to Ed Wright for a tune. Will 30lbs injectors do me any good over the stock injectors that I have. Will there be a noticeable difference?

Thanks in advance guys.

Ask Ed. Stock 24lb injectors have been known to support in the 370/380rwhp range (maybe more) at a reasonable duty cycle.

^^^^^, this

ask Ed. I suspect the stock 24 lb will be "ok"

with that said I went with 30# (Ford SVO red tops) back when I had a mild H/C build...and tune by Ed. Since then I have moved up to 383 and bigger cam so the 30# was good to have....along with revised tune from Ed

the 30# certainly won't hurt anything with a mild cam but will need to be factored into the tune

I think the zz4 baby cam will be ok with 24s, but 30s give room to grow.

24's are actually a better choice for your mild setup and that ZZ4 cam.
But........if you're going to buy new ones just because of the age/condition of yours, AND if you think you'll add significantly more power sometime down the road, the 30's would make sense.
If that ZZ4 cam is in for the long haul, then I'd buy 24's.

They are the original fuel injectors. Im thinking for the time being I'll stick with these. I'm not sure if I'm going to much more for modifications.

No, nothing noticeable if all injector parameters in the tune are adjusted properly.
Unless the injectors are ridiculously large/mismatched to the setup.

OP

you can send your stock injectors out for service/cleaning/testing if you want. I have used www.cruzinperformance.com before.

OP, If you're interested, I have a set of 30# narrow body EV1 injectors for sale. These are true Bosch injectors. They will fit just the same as yours, just they are narrow body like an LS1 injector.

PM me for more info if you're interested.
