Default First Start Up Trouble!

Started the cam swapped turd tonight without the wp or radiator and ran it for about 1 min. It idled good, reved to 2500 nicely and had good oil pressure. Then i tried to start it again about 30 min later and all it would do is crank over, nothing else. I would turn the key just far enough to prime the fuel pump and it would make a weird clicking sound towards the motor. I could hear the fuel pump prime like normal but also that weird sound towards the motor. Then i would crank the motor over and nothing. Any ideas??? I tried to download the video but had no luck.

The motor turns over fine. The clicking sound happens when i turn the key to the on position as the fuel pump primes.

Reset battery this morning and it fired right up. Could be a icm going bad or the alarm system freaking out because of the loud rumble??? Opti wouldnt do this would it?

this intermittent stuff can be a PIA to find the "why"

you just put the motor in and you initially described "weird clicking sound towards the motor"...when you turn the key (I read that as a low battery starter clicking sound)

My thought is your + battery cable to the starter may not be on tight since it, along with MANY other electrical connections, just got re-connected. Might want to check that if you already have not

IDK if disconnecting battery and letting PCM reset could also make Opti work or not.....I would think more PCM fart or corrupted intermittent connection somewhere.

and on corrupted wiring...you mention aftermarket alarm system....those can play havoc if that wiring gets FU or that alarm brain shiats itself.

Its just the stock alarm system. Im thinking icm, or the pcm is recognizing that the wp temp plug/ fans and a few other connections are not plugged in. The egr/air is tuned out.
