Default Estimated Horsepower?

Hey!

I recently acquired a heavily modified 1995 Trans Am and I was curious if any of you experienced LT1/LT4 guys could give me a rough idea of what kind of horsepower this motor should make with all the mods.

Mod list(that I know of):

LT4 Hot Cam Kit (Cam, 1.6 RRockers, Heavy chain)
LT4 Intake Manifold
Holly Twin 58mm Throttle Body
MSD Optispark
MSD Blaster Coil
MSD 8.5mm Superconducter plug wires
MSD 6A Ignition Module
36lb SVO Injectors
Pocket Ported LT1 Heads
Summit Electric Water Pump
Hooker SuperComp Shorty Headers
Magnaflow Header-Back Exhaust
High Flow Catalitic Converter
lt1pcmtuning.com PCM Tune
A/C Delete
Underdrive Pully

Thanks!

Street Exhaust
Mild Intake Tract Work
Mild Cam
Very Mild Port Work
EWP
Pulley
Tunnig

.....330-340 with a GOOD tune?

Some other guys on here probably know a lot better, but that would be my best guess.

lt4 intake wont fit on lt1 heads unless there was machine work done. Besides that, I'd say you're in the ballpark with your guesstimate.

Ya, looks like the intake was shaved on both sides to fit.

That was a bad move, they get rarer by the day.

Stretching the term heavily modified lol. You didnt mention if it was an auto or stick but those headers are choking that thing up bad.

Yea shortys suck, get yourself a nice set of long tubes. The LT4 cam is mild and im not sure whats going on w/ the heads so I have no clue. Maybe 310-320 Rwhp?

I live is Cali though, I'm pretty sure long tubes are illegal. The hookers are smog compliant. I would totally get long tubes otherwise.

Shorties limit you, regardless of manufacturer. When dealing with aftermarket headers, mid lengths are the consensus minimum and long tubes are optimal.

Going to an ORY and long tubes would probably be the most cost effective mod in your near future if you don't mind a little rumble and resonance on your daily commute.

I know a ton of guys run LTs in Cali but they probably know shops to pass them. Not sure, never been out there but I hear the DMV is strict. Use to be the same way in Jersey but that changed.

LT1 heads and a LT4 intake manifold....not a good match.

Ideally the PO just painted a LT1 intake red to look like a LT4.....otherwise they really are not a match

assuming motor is mechanically sound and the tune is good, low 300 ish (320ish) HP range RW

That's what I assumed he did at first but upon inspection I found it is legit. part# 12550631.
What is the problem with mating them? Other than the unfortunate modification of a rare part?

Basically read Injuneer's post he knows his LT1's. Probably better off grabbing a LT1 Heads/intake and sending it to LE for porting and have him spec you a cam. And see what you can do about those headers.

Thanks for the advice! I would do that if I wasn't planning on selling the car soon. But I will likely utilize this information in the future.

That's too bad since an unmolested LT4 intakes bring a nice premium ($$$$) but do nothing to produce more power than a LT1 intake.
