Default Building 1992 lt1 motor (need advice)

Was wondering if anyone could give me any suggestions as to building this 350 lt1 motor. I want to get as much hp as possible on street gas, no supercharger or turbo, as I am already a bit over my head with just the traditional build. The block is in good shape, will need to be bored based on wear. Currently at machine shop, waiting in line. Keeping stock heads, ported and semi-polished. Intake supposedly good flow, so ported, no polish those ports as well. After deciding what throttle body, will port match that as well. That's about all I can do, other than putting the engine back in the car, and re-install all the accessories. I don't know what cam, throttle body, electrical-MSD? headers, exhaust, etc...It would be great if there is any info, spec sheet on successful builds that were perhaps dyno tested, with results of good, steady hp throughout the power band. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to get enough of this stuff! Very interesting.

My advice is to contact Lloyd Elliot for cam and heads he will get you get you making some power. Throttle body and ignition are s waste of money, keep them stock. Texas speed longtube headers, true dual exhaust, 3600 - 4000 stall ( don't skimp on it buy a good one) and 373 gears ( assuming it's an auto) if it manual go 4:11. Since it's at the machine shop already, look into doing a 383 stroker. That's my 2 cents....

+1 on what 80/TA/LT1 said. Spend your money on a good heads/cam combo from someone like Lloyd or AI first. Having someone port and semi polish and then trying to guess on a cam is just that--a guess. Good heads and exhaust flow is the first step and most important.

Here are some of the details on the 383 LT1 motor in my 92 Vette. The motor was built by Karl Ellwein. She's a street / strip car that has run the 1/4 mile in 11.62 seconds / 115 mph.

11.1 compression, blueprinted/balanced, fully forged bottom-end w/Callies Dragonslayer crank, Mahle ProSeries pistons, Callies CompStar Ultra H-Beam rods, Trick Flow 21 degree heads ported/polished by Lloyd Elliott, Lunati hydraulic roller cam (231*/239*, .571"/.587", 112 LSA recommended by Lloyd), Trick Flow roller rockers, 36 lb. FAST injectors, 4L60 "Level V" transmission, 3400 rpm Vigilante converter, American Racing Headers, 4.10 gears, C-5 calipers and rotors, Viking dual adjustable racing shocks, tuned by Ed Wright (FAST Chips)
