advice on where to start?
but for now what to do before getting into the motor heavily?
You would want the "supporting" mods also:
30 lb injectors
255 LPH FP
headers
3:73 gears if auto
higher stall TC if auto
4:10's if T56
You would not need injectors, bigger fuel pump until the H/C package so gears and stall if auto for now and headers

IDK if the LE2 H/C package will "pass". Discuss with Lloyd. Your tune will be a major factor in passing along with a motor that has no "issues" (exhaust leaks, bad 02's, etc)
My 383 dyno is 385 RWHP/392 RWTQ.

Might want to discuss your H/C goals with Lloyd first and determine what stall with your 3:73 gears his cam would work best based on YOUR USE INTENT of the car and buy that TC stall if you do want to do stall & gears with stock motor vs when you do the H/C package first
Really consider your use intent of the car. High stalls for 1/4 mi may not be what you want for the other 99% of the street driving you do. TC stall speed and how higher stall TC act differently in city street driving vs ones in the 2400-2800 rpm range can be subjective. What one person likes the other may hate.
Add a external tranny cooler when you go higher stall
