Default Picked up a Formula

As the title says I picked up a very decent 95 Formula with 81k on it, absolutely NO modifacations have been done..........YET!!!!
The ONLY thing that bugs me is that this car was ordered with an A4 I am not a huge auto fan...... Here is my dilemma, a few years back I ran my z28 bolt on 6 spd often at the track with the best time of 12.98@106 and a close friend of mine had the same bolt ons with a cc503 and a vigilante3600 and 3.42 gears and his best pass was 12.89 consistantly.
I DO NOT want to run only 1 tenth faster with a cammed auto vs a bolt on 6spd. Times may seem slow to a few of you guys but LVMS is 2400' plus.. Our actual runs were at 3006' so we run 4-7 tenths slower than many other tracks.
My thoughts were to do all the bolt ons from my z28, use a 503,plus add the T56 and 4.10s.
I know what to expect from a stick car but a stalled a4 is something i have not owned for 20+ years.

I cannot recall ever owning an unmodded Lt1. Its a little weird feeling!

I decided to give the 4L60e a chance. I will add a 3600 stall and large cooler after all the other bolt ons are done. I miss the 6 speed though!

Cant stand those LT Formula front ends but it Looks like a clean car good luck w/ it.

Clean Formula, rather always start with a stock one then some ones science project.

Good man, just working. I still have my 93, just haven't messed with it in a while. Hopefully get back on it this summer.

That's cool.
I was somewhat forced by circumstances to be away from the hobby for 3 years. So glad to be back in an f body.

Is this gonna be a regular track car with occasional cruising?

Given the above, if it were my car (OK, I KNOW that it isn't ) I would go with what you have listed, a bit more cam than the 503, a 24x conversion (I like the TorqHead kit), a Yank 3600 TC, and 4.10 gears to go behind that A4.

Hell.....that's what I have in my '96 Impala. And I'll tell ya what; 4.10's with the A4 will give you a whole new perspective on life as a hot-rodder!!

^^ I think the Impala has a bigger rear end than the F body.. That being said 4.10's are problaby gonna be thin and fragile with a good sticky tire in the little f body rear.. 3.73's are gonna have a thicker ring gear and be a little more reliable in my opinion..

it is definitely a double duty ride for now.

I like your way of thinking though we are not too far off.

I have no worries dealing with 3.73s or 4.10s I have the 8.8 that I built for my Z28 and it just happens to have 4.10s

8.8 in effect sadly i will be on stock wheels for a while but i do have a pair of extra stocks for some Dragradials
