More info is needed, but in the meantime you can also connect an analog guage to the port just above the oil filter to confirm.

Some info that would be helpful is:

1. Did this just start happening, or did you hear the knocking over a longer period of time and just now checked the valvetrain?

2. What oil (brand & weight) are you using? How many miles on the current oil?

3. Since you have 40 psi oil pressure on a cold start at idle, what is your normal idle pressure when the engine is warmed up?

4. What your normal oil pressure at 60-65 mph when the engine is warmed up? (RPM at these speeds would help too.)

5. Is this a stock engine, and, if not, what components have you added or modified?

6. How many miles on the engine? Do you have to add oil between oil changes?

7. How often is the engine driven hard, i.e., track days, auto-x, drag racing?

No oil when running from lifters threw push rods to rockers and its all stock i bought it from a guy that slowly got it running but it sat for 3.5 years and oil stays at 40 at idle and goes to 60 when given some throttle but it has a knock in topend pushrods are clean and clear

If it sat for a long time then it's probably just sludgy. I would take apart the lifters and thoroughly clean them, then install back in the motor and prime it. You should see plenty of oil then.
