95z to SS conversion, want to rid SS intake
Alright so I have a 1995 z28, the previous owner had swapped to the SS hood as well as the SS air intake that goes over the engine. I really want to get rid of this so I was thinking of purchasing K&N FIPK CAI. I've searched around a bit but wasn't able to find an answer to this particular question. I know normally the K&N is a direct fit, however I was not 100% sure if because the SS conversion was done if the MAF is different or further back/forward.
BTW here is the direct link to the one in question:

OP,
MAF is not different and with the SS intake, it sat on a bracket that was bolted to the head. It is relatively the same position because of the plug from the harness.
Not true. SS intake is in a dead spot on the hood of the car. It is also prone to get heat soaked sitting atop the engine. There is a rumor from years ago Dave Hamburgler himself stated the intake was more novelty than function.
I did have good luck with my SS when stock against other stock Z28's at the track, but credit that to 3" exhaust and muffler.

Much better fitment. There have been complaints made the FIPK one didn't fit well to the MAF and would slip off.
