Building 396 lt1

This so far the build

3.875 crank forged
6.0 h beam forged forged
-34 pistons

Stock heads so far

Anyone know the what compression will be

SS RRR 01-11-2018 08:49 PM

can’t know without cc of your combustion chambers, head gasket thickness and deck height.

Lsp Przy 01-11-2018 11:33 PM

Well

The deck height very little is being taken. More say just even it up make it even and flat.. the heads should be 54.5 whatever stocks heads. The gasket I want keep this car around 8.8 to 9.0 as it will be running 16 pounds of boost

Sto I remember what deck height will be I know it will be hard to say

SS RRR 01-12-2018 11:22 AM

According to this calculator with a stock deck height you'd be right around 9:1 with a .040 head gasket:

Would Happen to know what vavle size I should go with for optima power

SS RRR 01-12-2018 12:21 PM

Nnnnnnnnnnnope. I've never done a FI engine. Two blokes that have are Blackbirdws6 and ShownoMercy who are sometimes on this forum.

Lsp Przy 01-12-2018 12:30 PM

9.1 still little high maybe cometic has 50 inch gasket I want 8.8

The valves I. Running titiaum intake and stainless exhaust I just need to know what size I should buy to get all power possible

Lsp Przy 01-12-2018 12:31 PM

What your motor putting out

moehorsepower 01-12-2018 01:36 PM

9.1 isnt high, I run 9.4.1 with LT4 heads and at 12lbs of boost my motor makes 806HP...

Lsp Przy 01-12-2018 01:57 PM

The piston I got are rated at 20 pounds they are diamond blow through pistons i got them gapped at 16 that's the reason why I want it little lower then 9.0 just for peace of mind plus it's going be street /strip car still running intercooled and stage 2 snow system oil cooler. Rated at 650 HP 160 pound injectors

I just need to know a good vavle size to go with
My t56 will probably blow up. But will worry about that when it does
500+ fuel pump

Also what what supercharger crank dampener I called ATI
they werent sure if it works with vortec super charger

Keep your quench as tight as possible. If you are wanting less CR then use a different piston or get the chambers worked over.

With that much boost, I would do a 383ci (maybe even a 355) before going with a 396ci.

But that's just me. :burn:

I had a budget cast boosted 383 that went 137+mph in the 1/4 at 3850lb with stock (cleaned casting flash) heads with stock sized Manley valves. I was told a good 5 angle valve job was as important as valve size.
I'd just let Loyd decide. He is a master.
