Do you have pics of this set up?

You are saying if i do long tubes magnaflow would be my best bet?
Yes, I believe my LM1 sounded better on my stock manifolds/Y car, probably due to slower exhaust gas velocity. The LM1 sounded okay on my longtube car, but nothing to brag about. It didn't sound crappy, it was just more loud than it was toned (deep/rumble). After having the cat installed, it brought the sound level back down to a good level, but didn't quite add much tone. I just thought a magnaflow would add more of a deeper tone it was lacking. Maybe LM2 would be a worth-while choice? Or the power-flo addition, which wasn't available back then. On a side note, I bet a true dual X system would sound absolutely insane on an LT-1 car!

only problem with the duel setup is that they dont make anything thats bolt in. they seem to all be for the ls cars and the routing is diffrent. Trust me i want to go that route i just dont want to mess around with retro fitting everything.

Borla ATAK Exhaust & Borla Long Tube Headers. You can pick them up somewhere like Jegs Performance or Summit Racing.

Sorry I don't have any pic of how I attached it to the headers but it's pretty self explanatory. It's really a solid system for the money. If you click on my YouTube channel link below I have a couple of vids with the sound idling and driving around.

I put a 98-02 LS1 SLP LM1 on my old 95 LT1. Connected directly to my pacesetter longtubes/ORY. Hung in the car like it was built for it, zero modifocations. The difference between LM1 and LM2 is absolutely nothing dimentionaly, just the internal muffler is more and less sound deadening.

as in louder? think there would be an issue bolting up to the factory system?

LM2 is quieter, it's more of a real muffler. LM1 is just a straight-through hollow resonator. I can't speak for the 98-02's ability to mate up to the factory LT1 exhaust system, because the one I installed to the factory exhaust was back when the kit was still available for 94-96. I don't remember either kit being different looking though. I know it will physically fit the car correctly. I bet it would fit the factory pipe with little to no modification if I had to guess. If you are sticking with the stock manifolds and Y, I wouldn't hesitate to go LM1.

Does the LM1 have tone? is it raspy?

LM1 on my 95 with stock manifolds/Y and punched cat had great sound and tone in my opinion. LM1 on my second 95 with pacesetter longtubes and ORY had loud sound and little tone in my opinion. That's why I recommended LM2, magnaflow, or other such system that has a little more muffler, if you were going longtube/ORY, to help quiet the loudness and add a little tone back. Any Y pipe type exhaust setup is going to disturb gas flow, which creates the rasp that we hear. Some worse than others. This is why people recommend using a specific Y transition piece welded into a Y pipe, it will flow better, do less disturbance, and create less rasp. Some people are more tolerant of rasp than others also. Generally speaking more muffler helps to hide the rasp sound. I think LM2 could be a good choice across the board. If you want more sound, it's an easy $80 swap to put the LM1 resonator in place.

Gmmg is another great option. In my opinion it's the best sounding exhaust you can get for a y pipe set up. But I am switching to Texas Speeds over the axle true duals.
