Default New forum top and bottom bars....

Totally off topic for the forum.....but is there an option to turn off the new top and bottom bars? They are driving me nuts and taking up too much screen realstate.

Think I found it.....

The option has totally disappeared now since I disabled it....but if you go to the User CP, Settings and Options, Edit Options......scroll down until you find disable infinity scrolling. Click the radio button to that option and it will get rid of the top and bottom bars.

to be honest I like the top bar that pops down when you scroll up. makes navigating more efficient and convenient I think. I used to be in the habit of hitting the home button on the keyboard after getting to the bottom of a thread. Now I don't have to move my hand off the mouse. The bottom bar... haven't been in a situation where it's useful yet.

I'm using my 42" office TV for surfing most of the time. I'm running at 684p to get the desktop text to where I can see it from 8 feet back in my recliner. With the 16:9 ratio, the bars intrude on my screen area too much for my taste. At a larger resolution or maybe even a 4:3 ratio, it would not be so bad. The mode to me looks like something built for a touch screen interface.
