Default LT1 swap questions ???????

so I have been putting together a swap for my 66 c10 I have had an lt1 and 6 speed out of a 95 Camaro and im going to carb the engine with an hei dist. so I have a couple questions

I've also read through this thread https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...hat-takes.html but no specifics on cam swap but I think I have everything else down just a couple unanswered questions I cant get anyone at summit racing or jegs to get back to me on lol so here they are.

1) Im wanting to put an aftermarket camshaft in it like a voodoo hyd roller but im wondering if I find a hyd. roller cam for a SBC would it work or would it have to be specific to the lt1 engine? if it would work what would be required to run it if there are specific parts for the swap.

2) would a sbc timing chain and timing chain cover work on this engine as long as I ran a electric water pump like I plan on running?

3) im not having luck finding any long tube headers to fit an lt1 for a swap into a c10 would a set of square port sbc headers work ive heard they would ive also heard they wouldent can someone clear this up? its gonna be a cruiser not a street strip so the greatest flow isn't going to be a huge issue but I can get sbc and lsx long tubes all day long for the swap but cant seem to find an lt1 swap header.

I know an lt1 swap isn't what everyone is going with these days but I have one setting around that's in good cond. and runs great so I figured what the hell I got the engine might as well try to swap it into the c10 and ditch the inline 6

I'm pretty sure you can not carb a 95 LTI without a high dollar manifold
and i do know the 95 LTI has the Opti spark set up so you cannot fit a HEI distributor to that motor

I have the carb manifold https://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-24502592 it uses a standard hei distributor so the optispark can be removed..

I have a Crane 227 cam in my LT1 carb motor. It was a "LT1" cam. With that said any cam with the same journal size should work. You can use the LT1 timing cover if you also use the Opti block off plate and a standard LT1 timing chain

Just leave the WP drive gear installed if you use a EWP...or you could weld up the hole in TC and not use that gear. My unused drive gear has been on for 18 years now...
