Full exhaust suggestions?
94 Lt1 Firebird, looking to replace the exhaust from the motor back. Done some searching and research but figured posting will answer better.
Short tube headers or long? I'm looking for a full bolt up system. Will eventually swap in an LS1 6spd. Do you guys keep the EGR or only where you have to pass emissions? TIA

Always long tube headers if you dont have to deal with emissions. Speed engineering makes a good set with off road Y. I would combine those with magnaflow cat-back as i have heard this setup in person. Not super loud but sounds good when you open it up. Keep in mind LT1 headers and Y will not work with an LS1 tho.

Ya I figured I will have to change the headers to LS1 but wont be doing that for at least a year. I need to have the vehicle saftied as I just got it and the mechanic is calling a right front manifold leak so I'd rather do headers now. I need to check if ERG delete is ok with him. So long tubes to y pipe to cat to catback correct?

Y pipe will delete the cats....unless you get one with cats in it. Either way it wont be legal for emissions. Yep long tube headers to off road Y pipe then cat back will go up to end of Y pipe. Im assuming you just get an EGR block off plate to delete that as well.

For headers I’ve read Pacesetter long tubes are pretty much tried a true. I have them, 1 3/4” 3” collector with armour coat and they look nice, I also have a matching 3” y pipe from them. I recently took off the Magnaflow cat back as it was way too quiet....I put on a Madhammer ( GMMG ) with Corsa clones and couldn’t be happier....sounds amazing, deep tone, throaty and no drone.
