I put the rear tires on top of the front wheels to lift the rear some. Lifted the body using the front crash bumper and a strap. Transmission rested on my jack and the k-frame on dollies. Used the jack handle and the sway bar to pull the sucker out from underneath easily. Didn't take long working by myself. Just went through this a month ago or so.

I've done it from the top also, but without the transmission or intake installed. Just don't... Wayyy more work from the top then from the bottom, and you'll be able to remove things without the engine/transmission sitting in the car.

 

I pulled my engine and trans out the top as one assembly but pulled the radiator and condenser didn't seem bad but I haven't went back in with it yet.
