First off, what do you want to do with the car? If you want something that has instant torque, go for the 503. If you want to wind out the gears, get some 4.56s and get the xfi280.
And I think the weight would be pretty well negated by the t56 and gearing. You'll be fine with a 503 or the 280, but if you get some new heads, I'd look into getting them ported and just do the 503 on top. That cam that will peak in the high 5000's with stock heads, and probably about 6000 or a bit more with ported heads. Set your limiter at 6200 and you should be good to have a fun street machine with good torque that doesn't fade out near redline.

cc502 has been very popular over the years with the b-body crowd. Will bring on power a little sooner than the cc503 and has less overlap so better driveability. Just depends on your goals, usage, etc. For a daily driver something like the cc502 would be more ideal, for a weekend warrior or street/strip car you might be happier with the cc503 (use to have one, great cam). I love the XFI280 cam but I'm not digging it for your application unless you are willing to go with steeper gearing and do some work to the heads to get the full potential from it. Just my .02.

I have the smaller 268 XFI (466) in my 96 Impala/T56 383 mildly ported AL heads, 4:10. I have to pass CA smog which it easily does. Makes good TQ and is VERY street friendly
If emissions are not a issue the 280 (467)) would work very well and make more power than the 268.
Either one don't use the Comp 918 springs. Get the Lunati LT1 spring kit
