Bye Bye Opti Going TorqHead 24x Conversion
Any input or ideas on the system. My shop called and said he would work with us as a business and give my shop owner a discount for the items and I was quoted around $600-$800 in labor. TH said he will disable AIR/EGR/EVAP (EGR/EVAP doesn't work with the conversion anyway that is the only issue, which when I drop the motor I'll pull those two things out anyways). TH also is aware that I am removing the TCS "ASR" nasty black box on the DS valve cover but want to keep cruise and ABS. He said he can tune out the computer to make the TCS be off like when you remove TCS you automatcially lose ABS but he can change that. Would mean I would still have the ABS and wont have to use a resistor to fake the PCM into thinking my TCS is connected when its not. I have the 95 camaro Cruise Control Cable Non-TCS, Just need the 95-97 camaro Throttle Cable without TCS. Is there anything else I need at this time? Any bracket to hold the cruise and throttle cable together by the intake manifold?
Thanks!
Anyone know about using non-tcs throttle and cruise cables and yanking out the asr unit on my camaro?
People are taking about taking the whole rear end apart lol to make this work, surely that is not needed.
Spartan7 and others have said:
Non TCS LT1 Cruise Cable
Non TCS LT1 Throttle Cable
2.6- 3.7 ohm resistor that PLUGS into the wires that plugged into the ASR motor? Is that all that is, changing rear ends? Swapping sensors out? Changing ABS modules etc, is that all involved? Going from 4 channel to 3 channel.
I don't want to switch rear ends, I SIMPLY want to remove ASR but KEEP Cruise Control and ABS. Is this possible and how?
Currently have a 95 camaro Z28 Non-TCS "ASR" Cruise Cable on the way.
