Default HELP Messed up transmission I知 pretty sure.

So I tried to do a donut in my 1995 camaro z28 4 speed automatic. And I知 guessing that while I was trying to kick it out while holding the break to get the rpms up, but I was still in third gear from driving into the lot. So I backed up, seemed fine, tried to leave the parking lot and I was in 2nd gear and as it was trying to shift into 3rd it started to spit. If I let off the gas sometimes it値l shift, now it痴 in my driveway and whenever I try to start it-it takes a few seconds to fire up. You can hear it trying to start, exhaust is coming out the back when I try to start it. But then when it does turn over I have to keep the Rpms up to keep it going or else it dies. Any help appreciated, I知 thinking about buying a used 4l60e transmission from a 2000 2wd Silverado this weekend and swapping it for this assumed gernaded transmission. (Assuming this transmission will fit?)

By "spit" and the rest of the description you mean the engine is misfiring? What you describe fits into the category of a loose rotor on the optispark/distributor. Good news is most likely all you need to do is take off the opti, take the cover off, locate the rotor screws and put loc-tite on them and re-install. Bad news is, if you have no experience doing this it can be a daunting task. There are plenty of write-ups on this subject.

By spiting I mean that when when it痴 trying to shift into 3rd at 2200 rpm it doesn稚 want too and it spits. I can get up too 5000 rpm in first and second alone perfectly fine though, so it shouldn稚 be a missfire I would assume

I don't believe this to be a transmission issue, and if the engine is hesitating when trying to shift, I think that would also influence whether or not the trans could shift as it should.

Either get a scanner and see if 3rd is being commanded or unplug the transmission harness plug. That will put it into limp mode and you will have reverse and 3rd only.
