Default Anyone install a universal throttle cable?

I can't for the life of me (spent all day googling, checking ebay, craigslist in major cities, LS1tech etc) find a replacement non-TCS throttle cable. I did find a couple of people parting out vehicles but I need a replacement cable for my 97.

So unless I get lucky it looks like I'll be installing a lokar universal? Has anyone here done this? Is it horrible or not so bad? Any write ups? Also do I need any other parts besides the cable itself?

Did you call a GM dealer? If not, they may be able to track one down, or suggest where to look.
Also, try salvage yards. I think there are some f-body specific ones out there.

I can't say that I have done a Lokar Throttle Cable on an LT1 before. But I did a Lokar throttle and Kickdown cable on an Olds 350 with a 200 4R. Was fairly easy to do. Just measure measure measure then cut. But came out nice.

I was able to get a stock one by scouring craigslist (all the major cities) and got a junkyard to send me one. I should have tried calling Hawk's I guess, but the website did say "out of stock". Same with trying dealerships.
