Default Tuning question LT1

I have never owned a LT1 car before. I had a 99 Formula LS1 fbody and a 07 Mustang GT with the 3V engine. I got the LS1 tuned at a speed shop back in the day and the 3V was super easy because you can get email tunes and load them into a hand held device. But my new ride is a 1995 Corvette. I go to speed inc's website and they don't even offer anything for cars older then the ls1 era. I don't even know how OBD 1 cars get tuned since they don't have the OBD 2 port for laptops or handhelds to plug into. I'm afraid to mod this car at all, even LT headers, because I fear I won't be able to find anyone who can tune it if it's running rich or lean.

Anyone know anywhere in or near Illinois where a old school LT1 could get tuned at if I did decide to do say headers and a cam?

Thanks,

If you can post on this site, you can definitely use Solomon from this site.www.not-a-sponsor.com I did mine via email and it took all of 4 mins fo upload. It does take some capability of operating windows software but not bad. I got my cable from this guy.

Use EE Hack from the LT1 site and you’re in business. Where in IL? I may be close enough to help

there are still a couple guys that do mail order tunes for these cars; Solomon as mentioned above who also tuned my car and moe bailey (moehorsepower on here) and i'm not sure if pcmforless is still doing business (though i would stick the two mentioned before). obd1 is easier to tune than obd2 lt1s, just need a cable as mentioned above and a decent laptop with the free software to flash the tune.

Nice! I will have to pickup a laptop first because I only have a desktop PC but that's not a problem. I live in Peru, IL which is right next to starved rock state park. It's about a half hour west of Joliet and about 1.5 hours south and west of Chicago.

While I have not used any of the tuners mentioned I always sent my PCM (Ed Wright) and it was returned with the new tune. I assume the ones mentioned also do this vs you needing to get the software and/or cable and whatever laptop (IIRC you want a older operating system). If the car is down now no big deal sending PCM off. Should have it back in a week

What's up man. Just randomly browsing the forum and saw you are from Peru. I live over in Utica and am from Peru originally. I have everything setup to log and tune mine with my laptop. Not sure I'll have mine out anymore this year with the crappy weather, but let me know if you ever want to see how I tune mine.
