Default Engine swap

Hey guys hows it goin, so I’ve got a 1995 z28 camaro, mostly stock. I was recently gaven supposedly a old Chevy 350, that was supposedly board out to 383. It’s mainly just the heads, block and internals, and a carbed intake. I was wondering if it’s possible to just switch the lt1 intake manifold to my new block, and use a distributor instead of the opti spark because it’s a distributor driven cam. I would prefer to run fuel injection instead of carbureted. Any information appreciated, thanks y’all

No the lt1 intake won't bolt up. Further more there is no hole for the distbuter in the lt1 intake. I'm sure some other members will step in with more information.

You may be able to bolt up an intake from a tpi engine but I'm not sure what other complications that would create.

For 99.9% of folks (there's always that guy), this is a "pick one" situation. Either you use the 383 with a distributor, carb'd intake, no EFI, all 350 accessories, or you use the LT1 as designed. As said above, LT1 intake won't work, you can drill a hole for a distributor but then you don't have the coolant passages through the intake manifold for the top of the heads (the LT1 uses crossover tubes through the back of the heads). If you wanted EFI, a Tuned Port injection setup may work, but that's not really any gain over an LT1. The only reason to do this (in my opinion, of course), is if that 383 was already together, running, and came out of a fast car. THEN you could feel confident of an upgrade. If it's in pieces and untested, well, I think you're in for a money pit.
