Lt1 97 keeps turning off

He guys’d I bought a 97 transam lt1 it's cause mine I changed the fuel pump and started and ignition coil and fuel filter well it's runs fine and everything but when the check gages light turns on the car turns off automatically and it takes a while to turn on or I gotta wait or keep on trying but once it takes off check gauges it turns on, I need help putting to much into this car

The light comes on because the engine turned off. It's not a problem.

The question is why the engine turns off. There's quite a few reasons and we'd need more info to get anywhere.

optispark would be my guess. Does it happen when the car gets up to temp?
