The tube in this kit is my issue. Air is getting in there and grease didn’t work or I did it wrong trying to seal it

Might want to get a "friend" to do the old school push the pedal for your bleed. The needle/seat of the bleeder is what seals, not the threads and "bleeding devices" are prone to leaking air via whatever nipple/hose is in their kits

On non ABS cars I just gravity bleed

Not a ABS expert but my recollection is if you break into the ABS...it needs to be "serviced" as the various solenoids need to be commanded open/close. If your service manual method works, great.

i ordered a Motive pressure bleeder. Manual says as long as ABS light is off after engine running for 10 seconds, no tech tool is required. Hook up pressure unit, crack MC lines, then proportioning valve lines, ABS module, each wheel and rinse and repeat.

Who ever said hot rodding was cheap?

Or you could have just done it the old fashion way and had someone pump the pedal and hold it while you crack the bleeder....rinse and repeat...and doesn't cost anything.

If that works, then great. For the bleeder I would not recommend putting pressure in the reservoir until you have a port opened. I usually do 10lbs. Any more I risk the lid of the bleeder blowing off the reservoir and spraying brake fluid everywhere. Bad juju.

I agree with the 10psi limit.

I use the Motive bleeder. 25psi will blow the master cylinder reservoir apart....ask me how I know. =)

Even with the Motive, I could not get the spongy feeling out of the pedal. I finally found a Tech 1 on ebay for a good price with the correct cartridges a few years ago. Using it to work the ABS modulator, I finally got a decent pedal.

The Motive bleeder is much better than having someone pump the pedal.

Hard to beat the old-school method. Even the wifey can help with that and personally I kinda like having her around the shop, she's pretty!
