EVAP lines backwards
So I discovered I had these backwards on the solenoid. I had no codes and have corrected them. What would have been the symptoms of them backwards? Been running rich on the right bank.
Well I’ll take a whack at it. Normally I think backwards lines would not allow fuel vapor to escape the tank and when the solenoid opened, not much would occur. However, in my case, my solenoid is shot and is open permanently. I can blow air through it both ways. So essentially I have a vacuum leak no matter which way it is hooked up. And with it being stuck open, the vacuum is constantly pulling fuel vapor from the canister and at all times extra air is being pulled in. Once it is above 10 degrees, the new part will go on to see what happens.
Understood, but you don’t think a constant source of unmetered air won’t cause some issues? What is happening is essentially the same if I removed the tube and left it uncapped would it not? Kind of like a bad throttle body gasket
It wouldn't effect just one bank. It's unmetered air but not a huge source of it. The IAC should be able to compensate. I got rid of mine altogether, tuned it out and put as plug in the intake where the nipple was.

The lines being "backwards" doesn't mean anything. All the solenoid does is open and close the valve, allowing engine vacuum to draw in fuel vapor. You can technically put the lines on either way and it will work. I doubt that a stuck open solenoid valve would cause any real issues.

I'll bite. Completely suggestive, not to mention the placebo effect. It may have actually made a difference, but you have no data to back it up, not to mention it's only been one day, so it's way too soon to assume anything. But hey, you go right on being defensive. I'm sure you'll get more help that way.

My truck (98 K1500 350 Vortec) had the solenoid stuck partially open and when I replaced it startup and idle smoothed out a little.
