Not sure if this question has been posed, but are you running an underdrive pulley on the crank?

I tried to read the whole thread. Are you still having a overheating problem?

Have you replaced the radiator cap or tested it?

I already replaced the cap (Acdelco) one. I don't even think it's overheating. Yesterday when I got home from a 30min drive the scanner said 205F when I Checked with my temp gun it read 160-169F at the WP (Fans on) so I don't really think it's overheating if the actual motor is reading way cooler then what the scanner says.

Hello guys, long time no talk. I hope everyone doing well through this tough times right now.

Even thought we been in this pandemic I've been still trying to fix theses issues with the bird and since we on lockdown. Might as well just use this time right?

Here the things Ive done/replaced since the last time I was on here.

ECT harness -
I remember the wires leading to the sensor was exposed and brittle. Welp 2 months ago while driving from the exhaust shop on the fwy the wire snapped for a unknown reason. I'm guessing cause it was old and brittle. I end up buying a ac Delco pigtail and fixing the problem.

Radiator -
So for awhile as you guys know I was having a temp issue were my temp will rise slowly as I cruise, even mid 200s with a 160 stat and tune didn't seem right. Especially since the heads have been rebuilt, including a new WP. Things didn't add up, so I did some research on threads and found that some ppl lt1s also ran hot even with a 160 stat with no reason. Some theory's was maybe the coolant doesn't get hot enough to stabilize and that causes the temp to still rise. I've heard that around a few threads and some ppl suggest that a 160 is just not good with our motors even with a tune. Some ppl may think otherwise due to different experience.

So I end up buying the stants 180 "Super stat", replacing the radiator with a brand new ac Delco brand. Got my pcm tune to compensate with the changes and it runs way better. Temps stabilize around 201 and stays in the 205 - 207 while idling. Cruising low speed 203-204. Fwy 195-197. Pretty good ranges and the super stat is doing and behaving like i read.

I Also done some exhaust mods, changed out the Flowmaster muffle with dynomax muffler w/ also a dynomax bullet resonator welded on the I pipe leading to the muffler. It's deep, and sounds good with the cc502 cam. But then again kind of quiet. I was thinking about buying the borla Transverse Muffler and see what that will sound like. I also need headers too
