Throttle Body Bypass Valve What are your guys's thoughts on bypassing the throttle body coolant lines?
Is it worth it?
Is there much power to be gained?
Do you sacrifice a cooling effect?
Have any of you left everything plummed in and just had a bypass line and valve so you can open and close valves when you want it active or not?

The coolant line in the throttle body is there because these cars were built in Quebec. Its actually for heat. There's no adverse effects except in extreme cold. It'll gain you about 7 hp. Not bad for a free/cheap mod.
Unless you live in arctic conditions you'll be fine. The original thought behind the bypass is being able to cool down the intake including the throttle body between runs at the track (when tracks used to allow bags of ice in the pits. Heard a lot of them did away with that because drivers were keeping them on just before the burnout box and tracking water onto the track). What gain you experience is highly debatable during normal street driving where the TB will be continuously heat soaked.
