No reason not to go with a thinner head gasket on stock heads/shortblock

 

CC503 is an excellent cam and I love mine. I installed mine before I picked up a pair of stock ported heads. I cant remember what the dyno numbers were but they were pretty decent for stock heads and the butt dyno was defiantly noticeable. I have since installed some ported stock heads and this cam really came alive. The pick up in the Mid RPM range is significantly noticeable and once again the but dyno was noticeable. Here at the beginning of summer I'm going to send my my stockers out to LE for a H/I package and depending on what he says on the phone I may go with his custom grind cam to pair with the heads. I know that will always be the best option seeing as he specs the cams to work best with his heads. But I do love the 503 and I just want to make sure the extra money will be worth the extra price seeing as the wife and I are trying to pay down some debt. And I have a car parts spending problem..lol
