Lt4 t56 swap So i have a 94 trans am A4 . I also have a 95 trans am REAL lt4 t56 runs and drives but i want to swap it in my white car. Ive heard im going to have to modify my 94 harness.. anything else u guys can add?
Gonna have to wire up a reverse light pigtail and just wrap the rest up I suppose. As far as pure function you should be able to just plug in the VSS and drive away unless I'm forgetting something.
The best would be to swap engine and cabin harnesses, but it is the longest to do.
Second best and way less work, use T56 engine harness from ‘95 and modify your existing cabin harness.
On cabin harness you will need to modify circuits in connector C220 lower right corner in cabin. This is one of the connectors that plugs to engine harness. You will need to add back up lamp signal from T56 and connect it to reverse light circuit in center console where park/neutral switch is in automatic. You also need to provide inputs from clutch position sensor and pedal switches to pcm.
If rear gear ratio is not the same, consider installing differential assembly from manual car to have matching setup and no need to program pcm.
