Default Hot Climates and Block Filler

I live in Houston and I'm considering running block filler up to the freeze plugs. I'll also be running an electric water pump and aluminum radiator. Of yall who have done this, how stable were your temps in traffic?

Summertime stop and go in Houston? Yeesh. One advantage of an e-pump is sending max gpm regardless of load or RPM, so you have that working for you along w/ the aluminum radiator. I'd go HD for a pump if possible. Very curious to see if it's possible.

Well, im planning on an LE Trickflow top end on a 396 with probably atleast a 200 shot on top of that. Just doing all I can to make sure the motor survives.

You will be fine. That is one very big advantage of the LT1 utilizing reverse flow cooling. I've done 3 like that when I worked in a machine shop. and probably 10 or so 4g63 mitsu engines up to the coolant temp sensor. All were high hp street builds
Just make sure you don't mix hardblok too thick so it is able to fill all the voids.
My way was very noisy but works great. Air hammer with round head, solid steel block between hammer and engine block and vibrate **** outta block all over.
Hearing protection required and close neighbors or co-workers will hate you.

Would this affect the knock sensors at all?

I would imagine it would. You changed the stiffness of the block which means the frequency response of things is now different.
