Default Can these AFR heads be repaired?

So I had a broken valve spring cause my piston and valve to meet each other and it took out the piston along with tearing up the combustion chamber on the head. Is this something that can be repaired or do I have to buy a whole new head?

I would get them cleaned up and checked for cracks with dye. The AFR deck is pretty sturdy and it might be fine. If it checks out, there's no reason you can't have the heads TIG'd, new seats and guides installed, etc.

Would that kind of labor be appreciably cheaper than a new head?

Yeah I reached out to AFR, and they referred me to a repair shop, who quoted me an estimate around $350 for the labor, so much better than a new Comp ported 210 55cc head would run. Just waiting on a set of new double springs (so this doesn’t happen again) and 2 new valves to come in then I’m sending them off.

Well that's not bad at all.

Contact Tri-state Cylinder head in Evansville, In.
They are the ONLY ones that are the best at this. I have seen them repair many blocks and heads that most would say are irrepairable.

I might contact them instead, the shop AFR recommended is up in Michigan, but Evansville is only an hour away from me. Thanks for the suggestion, I may go that route instead.
