Default Help with Long tube Headers / exhaust

Hey y’all ! I’m not very versed on all this but I’m learning. I’ve read a ton threads but still a bit confused.
I have a 94 Firebird with stranos sway bars, 18x9.5 wheels on 275/35r18 and 295/35r18s and a magnaflow Catback exhaust. I will be purchasing some koni orange shocks with Strano springs very soon (hope I don’t scrape).

Next I will get some Pacesetter coated longtube headers, what else do I need when doing that ? Do I need to pair that with an off-road y pipe or something else ? Or longtube headers with the magnaflow catback I already have is all I need ?

I will do a cam next year. Want this beast to be a bit louder. Basically what are my options ?

You will need some sort of Y pipe (catted or not, that is up to you) to match up to the car back.
I installed a set of speed engineering headers about 3 years ago. Very pleased. They sell a kit that had the headers and the y pipe. Was pretty much a direct fit.

I agree. The Speed Engineering headers fit great, are stainless and very reasonably priced. I've installed a few sets and have had no issues. They don't always have them in stock though so you would have to check with them. I would recommend upgrading the gaskets and using ARP header bolts.

If you plan to keep the car for a while, get stainless headers.

So you guys think Speed Engineering headers are better than pacesetters or Texas speed in terms of what you get for the money and fit?

Im going to get stranos springs, you guys think I should just get regular stock springs instead of lowering springs so the headers have enough clearance for these chicago streets ?

I have zero experience with Speed Engineering headers, but I would never put mild steel headers, or exhaust, on a car if a decent stainless alternative is available and within my budget. That's just me. Lots of people have installed Pacesetters, and others, and are perfectly happy. I tend to keep my cars for a very long time, and in the case of my Camaro it's probably going to be forever. Mild steel will rust, coated or not. For me, that's a big issue.

Which my Hooker Super Comps have been doing now for almost 20 years after being exposed to road salt once, but they still don't leak.

Regarding springs:
I have road race springs from BMR on the car.
no issues with scraping etc
but granted, this is just a track car.

speed eng headers have been on for 3+ years. Look brand new. Even with PNW weather.
