Have eehack program and compressor has plenty of refrigerant even though eehack gives me “EER61 (A/C Low charge)” the compressor only kicks on once I command it on in eehack. Does the compressor assume it doesn’t have enough refrigerant?
btw before this issue it was blowing hot & cold which lead me to believe a bad expansion valve. Now the compressor won’t come on by itself. I have to tell the computer to do it.

Looking up DTC61 in a '94 manual, the trouble chart refers to checking the AC pressure sensor reading to see if it is within 20 PSI of the high side pressure. You'll need a scanner that can access that pressure reading to verify that info(AC pressure and AC Pressure sensor voltage). If it does not read within 20 psi of the high side pressure, the check chart recommends disconnecting the connector from pressure sensor, jumping the terminals(in the harness connector...not sensor), and looking at the AC pressure voltage reading on a Tech 1 to see if it is higher than 4.8V. They are checking for a bad sensor, bad ref voltage, or broken wire with this test.
