Default ‘94 Trans Am 4l60e swap

Hello, I’m new here but I have a question that I need answered.

I have a ‘94 trans am lt1 the trans is missing 3rd/4th and 2nd slips quite badly, I was wondering if a 2wd 4l60e from a ‘94 5.7 truck would swap over without any major modifications? From what I’ve read it’s possible but I wasn’t sure if I should just get it rebuilt instead.

If so what range of truck years would also fit?

Thanks

93-94 were the truck years that match the 94 F body 4L60E. 95 was a standalone year for first PWM TCC apply strategy, PWM solenoid and valve changed in 96-up. Tailshaft housing on the F body is a touch longer, IIRC and has the torque arm provision, I may be mis-remembering on the tailshaft housing length. One way to make sure you've got a trans that will work is it WON'T have PWM in raised letters on the front plate of the pump next to the input shaft.
