Engine swap to newer body. I am looking to swap my engine from my 1994Z 28 into a 96Z 28 body. I was told that the only difference on the wiring harness, is the knock sensor. Is it easier to change the timing cover with the knock sensor? Or to change the engine wiring harness from the 94 to the 96. I will be putting the 94 computer into the 96 as well, as it has been tuned and had the security system deleted from it as well. Any help appreciated thank you

If you are swapping in your 94 motor and computer/wiring harness, then your using your 94 knock sensor. No worries.
I just did the reverse. I swapped a 96 into my 93 using the 93 computer and harness. I had to swap knock sensors and the hub. I also extended the engine temp sensor wiring to go from the driver side to the passenger. Reason being the 96 vette lt1 has a plug in the driver side.

wont need to get inspected, unless I run into trouble with the law. We have shops out here, throw a couple bills and your good to go, as long as it’s actually safe Lol.
