700r4 with manual tune file?
This is a little complicated and hard to explain, but I'm explaining this for a reason. I am turning a stock carbed pre 96 350 (no vortec heads) to fuel injected. I took a engine harness out of a junkyard 1998 1500 with a L31 5.7 vortec and am putting it into my 85 C20 with the 350. I did the 0411 swap on the harness and made sure every sensor is working and is functional. I also made a adapter for the spider injector connector and soldered on individual fuel injector pigtails. I installed the vortec distributor and a holley MFPI intake on the engine. I also replaced the timing cover with a holley cast aluminum one with the provision for the crank sensor. I also put the reluctor wheel on the engine. Now here's my question. I'm using a 700r4 transmission and I put a manual tune file on the PCM. Does anyone know if the PCM needs a park/drive signal in order for it to use the right tables? Like when this is all done and together, if I put the trans in drive is it going to kill the engine because it still thinks its in park? any suggestions?
