any one knows how to test an opti spark to see if it is working or not in a 1996 impala ss?
I want to test it while it is in the car.
any one knows testing steps?
Thanks.
From my experience, the key thing I have seen, when no codes are being thrown, is that there will not be any injector pulse width and no rpms will be detected. Though before this when I didnt have a lap top or fuel psi gauge, I would put my ear above where the fuel tank was under the hatch, where the carpeting is and have my friend turn the ignition key to power the car to listen if the fuel pump was priming or not, and it always did so I knew it couldnt be that. I would even try the old break cleaner in the throttle body trick to see if it would even sputter, seeing if the ignition was working ect.
These were some things that I used to determine if it was an opti issue and the both times I had a crank but no start condition, it was always the opti. Hope this helps !
