Default 1994 ecm question

I have a 1994 lt1 has ported heads and a cam and 30 lbs injectors. First question does it really need 30s ? Are 24s not enough? And how do I know if the computer has a tune ? Because it seems to load up as you slowly tap the throttle. Thanks

I had LPE heads/cam/LT headers/boltons making 370/355 to the wheels with 24lb injectors and I believe I was in the 90ish percent duty cycle. There is a formula out there, but I can't remember it off hand could probably find it by using google. As far as the PCM that's a tough one since it could have been tuned using HP tuners or whatever other software was available. I think there is still free tuning software available as long as you get an OBDI cable, laptop and software. I'd suggest just starting over. Find somewhere where you can get the PCM reflashed to stock and go from there.

I linked HP tuners first, but I don't see any software available for the LT1? I am also pretty sure there is free software available, but you need the data cable. Do a search on this forum for tuning software.

Check ECMHACK for free tuning and scanning software. You will need the cable.
They have stock bins you could use to start your own tune or to compare to your current tune.
Tunercat is also availiable for a moderate amount.

There is some software called Scan94/95 that will read the PCM on 94s & 95s. The software is free. You would need a laptop or something and an ALDL cable. I can’t swear that it would provide the info you’re looking for. There is a lot of info on CamaroZ28.com.

Scan94/95 is a good tool for high-level, at a glance 'is **** working' stuff. I found an open circuit on a PCM pin to the auto trans on a car a few years ago, wouldn't have spotted the issue without it. However, it wasn't written to be a tuning tool unto itself. Have a look here:

Yes. Scan94/95 is not a tuning tool, but it's great for diagnostics, assuming you know how to interpret the info. There are a few people still around that can help with that.

For Tuning, you'll need to use TunerPro RT, it's free and has all the related definitions in the download section, but if you're going to try and do some tuning you really need to do a lot of reading, you can screw things up really fast.
The emchack site has loads of helpful info, along the scanning software and a program called Flashback, that will download/upload EMC data. Also, shbox.com has loads of good technical data and diagrams.
