Question Adjusting Fan Temp Activation on OBD2

Hey, Team!
I recently acquired a 1996 Z28/SS - love it. Never been happier. However, she naturally runs a little hotter than ideal. In my previous lt1 I had a switch, but this time I would like to try to adjust the temperature point that the fans turn on. Does anyone have any tips on how to adjust the fan speed through OBD2 and not OBD1. Ideally, I would love to figure out how to modify it myself so I can improve my personal skills. Thank you all!

do you have tuning software for OBD2?

if not than a hypertech is good for that. Not much else other than speedo fixes for tire size or rear gear changes. Its "performance" feature is a zero.

AH! Okay I see! I want to get into tuning with OBD2 - I just need guidance on which software will allow me to easily adjust fan activation.

Do you know if they are still selling those hypertechs?

Thank you!

Hypertech programmers are long gone and would be worthless if you want to get into tuning. Jet is one that still has tuning solutions. There are probably some others.

Hypertech do not allow custom tuning for performance. They have a "preset" tune they claim adds power....it does not. Only thing they were good for is lowering fan temps and adjusting for tire size or gear change for speedo to read correct.

OP, just send your PCM mail order to a PCM tuner who still does OBD2 for whatever adjustments you want. IIRC moehorsepower does them. I used Ed Wright but he has passed, RIP.

Cartridges with "custom programming" could be purchased and plugged into a Hypertech for upload into a PCM. I had one for my LPE setup, which was recommended by them. Took it to Ed Wright about a year after and he wasn't able to get any better power out of it, but did get it to run more efficiently.
