Thanks. Yep, I have burped it several times. No leaks, until it blasts it into the overflow when it gets too hot. Forgot to mention its a new water pump. Im going to change the thermostat and back flush the radiator.
I checked the thermostat and it was opening properly. I bought a new radiator and also installed a 160F thermostat and its nice and cool now. Almost positive it was the radiator that was plugged up. The heater core was plugged up and I back flushed it to clean it out. Ken
I own a couple of 93 LT1 Trans Ams that had the same issue. There is an air bleeder valve on top of the front of the motor. It has a plain head screw on it. If you open that screw CCW, while the engine is running, it will blow all of the air out of the water system. Just leave that open until water begins to trickle out, then close it. You need to do that after the engine warms up and the thermostat is open. If you haven't done that, do it. Then your temperature gauge will read properly as well.
