Default Cold air to ram air IAT difference !

I recently got my hands on a ram air intake box and I compared to two intake temps. With the Cold air intake, I would see an average of 109 degrees while driving and around 119-122 while sitting at idle. Ambient air temps would be around 80-85 degrees. Today, getting the ram air installed, it is currently 70 degrees outside and im seeing iats of 77-81 while at idle and driving.

Side note, the intake sounds INCREDIBLE !!!!

Where did you get yours?
Thanks!

I managed to get mine off of Facebook marketplace.
You can buy fiberglass ram air boxes off of hawks motorsports for 500 dollars if you so choose.

I had to extend the ground for my maf sensor when I put the ram air intake on so be weary of that. I also used a rubber coupler around the maf sensor so the ram air intake hole actually fit snug around it. I think they used something else back then but good luck finding that part.

I once did a ram air hood conversion and just rotated the maf because the 96 maf wiring was a little short. Worked fine.

Cool you tested temps. I'd love to do one on mine

I think the intake box and ram air hood are worth more than the rest of my car as a whole. Nice to see actual data on IATs. There are numbers on air flow through the MAF at this site: http://www.ws6.com/ramtest.htm
