Default Firebird formula single exhaust !?!?!?

Call me crazy for going to a single exhaust but this looks way nicer than I expected. Also I can hear myself think now while I drive. I used to have the exhaust dump after the muffler when I got my universal corsa muffler installed.

^Link for some idle sound

You are brave. Firebirds always look weird with 1 exhaust. I got SLP 2otl sitting in my garage waiting for me to get over with it.

I guess I don't understand. Did you have duals on there before? What system are you running now? I agree, looks fine to me.

So a long long time ago I had the factory exhaust. I bought a universal corsa muffler, chopped off the old muffler, welded the corsa muffler onto where the factory muffler was, the pipe after the muffler turned 90 degrees pointed to ward the rear of the car then dumped down at a 45 degree angle on a short pipe. Originally I thought it would be weird to have one exhaust tip but I finally said "who cares" I think itll look great with the formula bumper. Now if I had the trans am bumper I had to do duals. Oh also the muffler has one pipe in and one pipe out. So id have to do a y pipe after to do dual tips and i didnt want to have some jank pipe go to the right of the car then turn and it would have been a whole mess so I just did the one pipe. Cheep, looks nice and sounds good. The tip really fits well with the formula body and over all it was a success.

So we're just talking about single versus dual exhaust tips here? Changing your exhaust tip made a difference in sound? Interesting.

oh I see, sorry. The title seems a little misleading, talking about dual exhaust vs a single. I am just talking about tips, after the muffler. So before when I didn’t have tips, my exhaust dumped right after the muffler under the car but I more so just wanted to show off the look of having a regular single tip on a Firebird. I thought it looked nice.

Its no doubt that exhaust tips after the sound of the car, just the degree at which they do, depends. If you want to hear what it sounded like before. There is a short video.

haven’t got a WOT video yet but when the time comes I will.
