Default Hub Removal

Was opti time on my C4 so since I noticed some oil leakage I was gonna do timing cover gasket while there. Trying to remove hub, it all started coming out, how much deep $h!t am I in with this? Im no big mechanic so what am I looking to do now???

How about getting the right tools for the job? You should be using a pulley puller.

Plenty of videos on youtube to show you exactly how to do the job. A lot of people don’t realize that the puller they are using needs a smaller insert and that they are actually just pushing on the hub itself.

My guess is you are fighting against the hub. A normal puller will not work with the LT1 hub. If you pull it out you'll see the hole in the hub is a small diameter and the puller will not go through and make contact with the crank. What I have found to work is a smaller bolt going through the hub when then presses against the crank. You then place the puller onto the head of that bolt. As stated, search youtube for videos. Should still be some around. Should be some info on this forum as well if you search it.

ah its hard to see what op has got going on, the picture is very limited.
