Default LT1 to LT4 conversion

Rather then do the search i am trying to get this done fast and rather have someone tell me straight up rather then going searching for it. Ok my little brother who is 18 in the military has a 93 Camaro LT1 and he wants to convert it to an LT4 or at least add components of a LT4 to his to make it much more powerful so what does he need to either switch it over to an LT4 or if he can not make it into one what can he add to his LT1 out of LT4 parts hes wanting to get 350+hp. I have (2) LS1`s so i am no help here thanks for everyones input if i get any.

Yeah, that's certainly one way to go. GM also sells an LT4 conversion kit for like $2700 or so. But he could make that much power (or more) by getting ported LT1 heads, a cam, valve springs and a computer tune for much less $$$

LT4 conversion is a waste of money. You said you didn't want to do a search, but if you would have searched you would have found that 5,000 of my posts are me saying "The LT4 conversion is a waste of money". Tell him to find a good shop that'll suggest him a good heads/cam kit and a full exhaust. He'll be much happier with that.

you can get the whole LT4 conversion kit from summit racing for $2330. i got the hot cam kit and i like it, but im a simple guy. i think ill go for some trickflow 2.02 heads when i go that route. but im still tryin to figure out this supercharging gig....

if he is only looking for 350 horses.....get a big cam and a computer tune.

the LT4 conversion claims 425+hp. id imagin im running around 350 right now, but ill never know for sure cause im gonna dyno it only after i get supercharged.....

good luck.

LT4 kit...sell the cam...by the gm847 for $209...and make more HP with a simple setup...or go through a sponsor for even less. 350hp can be achieved with stock heads but why stop there?

slightly ported heads, small cam, exhaust and you have more than 350 to the wheels with EASE. LT4 kit blows when it comes to horsepower. You can do so much more with so much less. You wont put but maybe 325 to the wheels with a hotcam kit.

I have the LT4 conversion, and I wouldn't call it a waste of money but it isn't the best bang for the buck setup.

I am in the process of selling my LT4 heads and intake to a buddy of mine and having LT1 stuff ported and get a bigger cam.
