Starter W/ Shorties

Am I going to need to do anything? I dont want my starter to burn up if I have headers on. They are BBK Coated Shorties... Just never had headers on ..so not sure if the starter will live.

headers wont affect the starter so dont worry. that thing is bolted up to the block anyways and can take A LOT of heat.

Still if you want to save a few pounds and get an lt4 starter here is a review. Not a bad deal for $150 dollars and will be much easier to install with the headers off.

I bought a new one for 80 bux ...its literally brand new and I thought thats what was wrong with my old engine..so its never been cranked.

I've never had a problem taking my headers off with shorties or LT's. They also make heat wrap if you wanna wrap that thing up.

if its coated you should be fine, i had bbk non coated, went through 3 starters and the last one was bad too

I've replaced 1 starter since my header's... (lifetime warrenty from advance auto)

It does get hot under there but I wouldnt worry about it !
