I'm not entirely sure since it was on there when i bought the car, but i believe it modifies the torque curve to give you more power at lower rpms. I think it changes from a 14:1 to a 12:1 ratio to increase power. It also increases the line pressure in the transmission. Putting it in performance mode does make a difference even with this. One day i'll remove it and compare with/without. I'm just too lazy right now

I just bought my car for a toy. I got one hell of a deal so I just couldn't take not modifing it. It's a 97 formula.

Interesting, I think the hypertech programmer was worth the money from ebay. You can get them for about $200. I like to be able to do my own basic changes. I think the firm shift was worth it and to be able to move the rev limitor to 6200rpms.

The best advantage to it is I just ordered a set of richmond gears for a 2 series carrier. I don't know why they put 2.73s in these cars but I just couldn't take it any longer. I heard that many prefer the 3.73s with the auto but I think that's crazy. the 4.10s will allow you to top out at with a programmer at around 160. I talked to fbodymotorsports and he said go for the 4.10s, he said you won't go wrong. He said you will still bury the 155 speedo.

I just bought the car and put in a hypertech 3 programmer with the 160 degree stat and GRANATELLI MAF. Wow, the car seem to wake right up. I took it down to Capital raceway and ran a 13.7. Of course it was around 65 degress that night but I about crapped myself. It's an auto too and those damn 2.73s.

I don't like the 16x8s so I bought a set of C5 rims. For some unknown reason, they were 17x8.5s but it was suppose to be 18s in the rear. The guy selling them had two pair and put the 17s as one set and the 18s as another. I ended up winning both so I now will be putting on some 275/35/18s on the back but haven't decided yet on a tire.

There are tons of things you can do with these cars. I had a tbird and had that running low 14s but at only 205hp/280fpt with 3.73s /intake and a programmer. I wish I had the 4.10s and won't make that mistake again.
