are the rod journals on the lt1 the same as the ones on a sbc? can i use sbc connecting rods in an lt1?

 

The LT1 crank is essentially the same as a Gen 1 SBC crank but is balanced for the lightweight hypereutetic pistons. The rods used in LT1s are either forged (92-94) or powdered metal (94-97) and are stronger than those in a standard SBC.
