help?!?! aftermarket valve covers

help?!?! aftermarket valve covers I started to intall the aftermarket polished aluminum valve covers I bought a couple weeks ago. The drivers side went in fine. The problem comes in on the passenger side. After taking the alternator off and removeing the stock cover
I noticed the stock cover had a notch in it for the alternator to fit right, the covers I boought we just '87 and up centerbolts and dont have that notch. Now the alternator wont fit on with these covers!!?! Anyone with aftermarket covers please help. I dont know if the valve covers wont fit because my car is a B4C and has a bigger alternator? heres a pic of the covers I bought...
Any help would be appreciated

nope thats just what happens when you try to put non specific LT1 covers on an LT1. you have two options. relocate the alt or notch the neccessary material off the alt. there was a good write up with plenty of pics on doing this. im not sure if itll work for you. i unfotunately do not have this write up. maybe someone else does.

What about notching the valvecovers? Sounds easier than notching the alt. Not sure if that's what you meant to say. You might be able to "massage" the valve cover for some more room and possibly shim the alternator out just a hair. Mine is shimmed out just a little bit, but it wore through the edge of the belt, so i had to back it up just a little.
I had a hard time finding the valve covers i wanted for my motor, I still don't have exactly what i want. I ended up with some plain valve covers, and i want some black crinkle with red "chevrolet" on them. I'm going to settle for painting the plain ones.
