But if you are at 150+ mph you would also be suprised how fast you bleed off speed when you just lift off the throttle.
I thought of another top speed type Impala, a guy who runs the Silverstate hit 175mph, he did it with a fairly mild cam even, the 845, I believe he also went 2.56 outback to avoid OD under throttle.
I'm planning on getting some ebay drilled/slotted rotors and some pads from NAPA. Anything would be better than the ones on there now. My ABS has been disabled somehow yet i still can't lock up the wheels with these brakes.I've decided that at 17 i am going to formally withdrawl myself from my social status. I had a half dozen teens approach my car at church yesterday and tell me how awsomely bad-*** my car is, ask for a ride, and i even let one drive it. Then the whole flock of us (14) drove to Friendley's for some ice-cream and the whole way they were racing and being dumb. I dont know whether they were trying to impress me, entice me, or they are just normally like that. I'm not implying i am better than anyone or anything, i'm just saying I don't want someone to make a mistake because of my influence. This coming from the guy who goes to all night keggers and has never drank before
What do you all think i should do? Build up my car, continue upon my increasing popularity, or should i just keep the car and make it nicer inside? I'm known for speed and power, but should i just indulge upon myself and spiff up my interior/exterior?

I didnt hit the deer in my car. The guy i bought it from did. He hit it at 75mph and destroyed the front passenger side, the hood, the headlights and bar, the turn signal, and somehow cracked the rear bumper. I have picture of all of it when i first got it, and what it looks like now that i fixed it. It's all on the website in my sig.
The fastest i have gone on a backroad is 186mph in the car i totalled when i actually wasnt doing ANYTHING stupid like i normally do. I swerved for a dead animal at 45-50mph and somehow lost control. I ended up going through 4 trees and landing sideways between two without a scratch on me. That was sort of a wake up call. It was determined the rear wheel steering could possible have been the reason the rear wheels hopped up. I figured if that had happened when i was doing one of my top speed runs and i had turned the wheel slightly and the rear steering didnt steer back like that did i would be dead.
As far as mods i guess i will put in some Subs. The guy who had the car before me had a totall of 5 15's and 2 12's in the rear. He broke the back window with the bass so now there is some sort of competition glass in the hatch so it won't break. I still have all of the wiring going to the back so i could use that. I already ordered a DVD player and 8" screen to put in there. I have all new speakers to go all the way around too.
For performance the next mod will be an exhaust. I have a 3 1/2" Flowmaster cat-back and i cut it off right at the muffler becuase flowmasters suck, plus the muffler was kinda dented. I plan on getting Pascetters LT's into 3" cats, into 3" aluminum piping, into a 3" X pipe, into 3" bullets, then exiting right before the rear wheels from those flat/square tips. What do you guys think?
