Hi everybody, for a while I have been trying to track down this rotten egg smell I notice sometimes when I drive my car. The smell happens when I cruise at high rpms and get to a stop or when I hit WOT and get to a stop. Last week I replaced my plugs and yesterday I replaced my cat with a brand new carsound cat since I though a rotten egg smell meant my cat was going bad. That smell is still there. So right now I am out of ideas. One of the replies I got from F-body.com says: "You want to make sure both O2's are bouncing around between .1 and .9 volts or 100 and 900 millivolts, depending on how your scanner displays it. They should be switching back and forth constantly, especially under varying throttle positions. If the O2's are stuck up in the .8-.9 range, then it is running too rich. If that's the case, you need to determine if you have a problem such as the stuck fuel injector you mentioned earlier. If the sensors are stuck at .1 or .2, it may falsely be driving the system rich, and in this case you need a new sensor(s)", if a injector was stuck wouldn't the PCM throw a code about one of the banks is richer than the other? I am going to rescan the car with my Diacom. Is there any readings I should check other than the O2s. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time and help.

 

i woulda suggested the cat converter also.. i honestly dont know what the prob is but i suggest u ask around this site: www.LT1tech.com they have some real LT1 experts there that will definitely help u out..

 

At WOT your computer kinda ignores your O2 readings. When you go WOT the car will default to tables programmed to the pcm. Maybe when you get those scanner readings we can do a little more.
