Couple of problems
My brother has a '97 Camaro SS and he just put 4.10 gears and a Spec stage 3 clutch in it and an aluminum flywheel. When he replaced the clutch and flywheel it developed a vibration ~ 4000 rpms. He took the clutch and flywheel back out and sent it back to Spec and they rebalanced the flywheel and sent it back. It still vibrated so he took it out and sent it back again and they sent him a new pressure plate. The car still vibrates. What could be going on? He is putting a under drive pulley and with a dampener on in the next day or two. I'm not sure if this will help him or not but it seems like it is worth a try. He also is wondering if the vibration could also be setting the knock sensor off. Thanks for any help.
what driveshaft is in the car? stock steel? if so,thats more then likely the problem. it just may of never surfaced untill the clutch/gear job.
try swapping the driveshafts between the 2 cars and see if the vibration goes away.
only way to know if the vibration is setting off the knock sensor is to scan it.

Will the scan that Autozone does detect the knock?
