what part of the vin would tell which gear i have in the car and what carrier i have. im about to get a gear and cant even get chevrolet to help me!?!?

You won't find it in the VIN. Look on the sticker on the side of the driver's door for the option codes and use this link to decode it.

In your glove box it also lists your option codes. I would look there first.
